Johannes Verwoerd Studio is a creative studio, based in Amsterdam. We specialise in translating ideas into campaigns, installations, books, exhibitions, websites, apps and what not.

Depending on the specific demands of a project, we work with a team of experts to fit any question, budget or challenge.

Johannes Verwoerd (Amsterdam, 1985) is an artist / art director. After studying at the Royal Academy of Art, he founded his own design practice (Johannes Verwoerd Studio). His work is a mixture of self- initiated projects and commissions, in which he alternately takes on the role of initiator, editor, art director and designer.

Typography and language are recurring themes in Verwoerd’s work. In his daily practice, he researches new ways of creating letters that are different from the font or typeface as we know it. In his work, language becomes fluid, interactive, adaptive and alive.

With a strong preference for the conceptual, he creates a world where a condom-wrapping can be a work of art, a drawing can be a logo, and a movement becomes an identity.
